We’re so excited to celebrate with you all in England! We know many of you will be traveling a long way to join us, and our goal is to make the entire experience feel as seamless and enjoyable as possible from the moment you book your flight to the moment you arrive at Wilderness Reserve. Once you arrive at the estate, everything will be taken care of—your accommodations, meals, drinks, and activities are all included for the full wedding weekend from June 30 through July 3, 2026.

Traveling to Wilderness

Flights

Most guests will want to book a round-trip flight into London Heathrow Airport (LHR), which is the main international airport serving London and the easiest place to arrive.

When searching for flights, we recommend using Google Flights, which makes it easy to compare routes and prices across airlines. Booking 3-5 months out from the travel date will generally give you the best availability and pricing, and it also provides peace of mind knowing your travel plans are confirmed.

Because London is about six hours ahead of Pensacola (and further ahead for guests traveling from the West Coast), arriving a few days before the wedding makes the experience much more enjoyable. Many guests are planning to arrive between June 25 and June 28, which allows time to settle in, adjust to the time difference, and enjoy London before we all head out to the countryside together.

London Recs

If choosing to spend a few nights in London on the front end, we recommend the Notting Hill or Hyde Park / Kensington areas, which are beautiful, safe, and centrally located. These neighborhoods are full of great restaurants, parks, and shops, and they will also likely be near our eventual group transportation pickup point for the wedding. Some excellent hotel options include The Hoxton in Notting Hill, Royal Lancaster London overlooking Hyde Park, The Kensington Hotel, and The Pilgrm near Paddington Station. Airbnb is also a great option, especially if you’re traveling with friends or family.

After landing at Heathrow, getting to your hotel is very straightforward. The easiest option is to request an Uber, which works exactly the same way it does in the U.S. The drive into central London typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. There are also excellent train options directly from the airport, but Uber is often the simplest choice after a long flight.

Travel to/From the venue

We are planning to coordinate group transportation from London to Wilderness Reserve on June 30, with pickup likely in the Notting Hill / Hyde Park area where many guests will be staying. If arranged, group transport would depart from a predetermined location at 2pm on June 30th. Check-in at Wilderness Reserve begins at 4:00 PM, and we encourage everyone to plan their travel so that they arrive at the estate by 6:00 PM, as our welcome party will begin shortly thereafter that evening. While we expect to arrange buses if enough guests plan to use them, we will confirm this as we get closer to the wedding once everyone’s travel plans are finalized. For those who prefer to travel independently or if group transport doesn’t make sense logistically, the train is also a very easy and reliable option. Trains depart regularly from London Liverpool Street Station to either Saxmundham or Darsham, both of which are about 10–15 minutes from Wilderness Reserve by taxi. The easiest websites to use for booking train tickets within England are Trainline (www.thetrainline.com) and National Rail (www.nationalrail.co.uk). Both sites are very user-friendly, show all available departure times, and allow you to book tickets in advance using a credit card. Once booked, your tickets will be available digitally on your phone.

At the conclusion of the wedding weekend, check-out from Wilderness Reserve will be at 11:00 AM on July 3. We are planning to coordinate group transportation back to London that morning, again depending on how many guests plan to use it. The train remains an excellent alternative as well, with taxis available from the estate to the nearby train stations and frequent service back into central London. Many guests will likely choose to spend additional time in London after the wedding before returning home, while others may continue on to other destinations in Europe.

Optional Paris Stay before the wedding week

A group of us will also be spending a few days in Paris before the wedding, arriving there on Friday, June 26, and returning to London by train on Sunday, June 28 ahead of the wedding week. Anyone who would like to join for part or all of that portion of the trip is more than welcome—we’d love to have you. The Eurostar high-speed train between Paris and London is extremely easy and takes just over two hours. The best website to use for booking these tickets is www.eurostar.com, though Trainline also offers Eurostar tickets alongside domestic UK rail tickets. If you’re interested in joining the Paris portion, please reach out directly and we’ll make sure you’re looped into the plans while we’re there.

One Final Note

As you begin booking your travel, it would be incredibly helpful if you could let us know your expected arrival and departure plans, and whether you’d be interested in using the group transportation between London and Wilderness Reserve. This will help us determine whether group transport makes sense and ensure we coordinate everything in the most convenient way possible for everyone.

We hope this makes planning your trip feel simple and straightforward. If you’d ever like help choosing flights, hotels, or thinking through your travel plans, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re more than happy to help however we can. We truly cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
